The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the time table for CBSE class 10 and 12 board exams 2026. According to the schedule, the CBSE 2026 board exams for Class 10, and 12 will begin from February 17 in an offline or pen and paper mode.

The CBSE will conduct the Class 10 board exam 2026 in two phases to reduce student stress. While the phase 1 exams will be compulsory for all students, the phase 2 exams will be optional for students who wish to improve their scores.

Notably, they can retain their best scores from the two exams.

75% attendance, compulsory additional subjects

The latest tentative schedule informs that the Class 10 board exam for phase 1 will be conducted from February 17 to March 9, whereas phase 2 will take place from May 15 to June 1, 2026.

The CBSE Class 12 board exams 2026, on the other hand, will be held only once a year and will be conducted between February 17 and April 9, 2026.

The board has also clarified that the special examination for Class 10 sports and olympiad students will take place during the phase 2 of the CBSE Class 10 board exams 2026.

In addition, students must achieve at least 75 per cent attendance and internal assessment to be eligible for CBSE board exams 2026. Besides, students must also have to study all the subjects including additional subject for two years.
