CBSE Class 10, 12 Term 2 practical exams from March 2; board issues guidelines

Download EBookNEW DELHI: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has asked schools to conduct practical exams for Classes 10, 12 from March 2 while following COVID-19 protocols. “Last date would be 10 days before the date of last examination of respective classes. No extension of the dates shall be considered by the Board,” it said.

While issuing guidelines for conducting CBSE 10th, 12th practical exams, the board said schools will have to keep in mind the bifurcation of Term 1 and Term 2 while making preparation for practicals.

CBSE asked schools to upload marks of practicals, projects, internal assessments simultaneously from March 3 itself. It asked schools to upload correct marks as no correction in the marks will be allowed once uploaded.
In order to follow COVID-19 protocols, CBSE suggested schools to divide batch of students in sub groups of 10 students each to avoid overcrowding. First group of students can attend the lab while the other group can do pen and paper work.

CBSE said that no external examiner will be appointed by the board for Class 10. There will be no separate practical exams in respect of private candidates.
However, for Class 12 students, CBSE will appoint external examiner. The board may also appoint observer in the schools to oversee practical exams and ensure fair conduct of exams. Schools will have to appoint an internal examiner of adequate experience and expertise in all subjects.

CBSE further said that in order to conduct fair exams, practical exams should be conducted in two or three sessions in a day if the number of students is above 20.
The schools have been also asked to upload photographs of practical examinations on an app-link to be provided by the board.
