BITS Pilani to set up Ankitt Gaur Centre of Excellence in Blockchain, AI research
Ankitt Gaur also introduced the Nirmala Devi Scholarship for Girls at the BITS Pilani Hyderabad campus to honour his mother.
NEW DELHI: The Birla Institute of Technology and Science Pilani, Dubai campus (BPDC) has announced that it will establish Ankitt Gaur Centre of Excellence in Blockchain and Artificial Intelligence (AI) Research. The objective of the proposed centre is to boost research, innovation and incubation in blockchain, AI, and Web3 technologies.
An agreement has been signed between BPDC and Ankitt Gaur, founder and CEO of OrbitXPay to build the centre “to bridge the gap between academia and industry, fostering an ecosystem of innovation, entrepreneurship, and start-ups,” the technology institute said.
Sharing his vision, Gaur said: “BITS Pilani has played a pivotal role in shaping my career. As a proud alumnus, this commitment reflects my gratitude and vision to inspire innovation and technological advancement. Through this centre, I hope to empower innovators, students, and researchers to lead in the fields of AI, Blockchain, and Web3.”

BITS Pilani Hyderabad Campus: Nirmana Devi Scholarship for Girls
Recently, Gaur also introduced the Nirmala Devi Scholarship for Girls at the Hyderabad campus to honour his mother. The scholarship aims to support female students and enhance higher education for women in India. Gaur will also work to encourage underserved communities regarding education and technology.
The new centre will be utilised by students and researchers to work collectively on projects, "driving global leadership in next-generation technologies. It aims to strengthen the synergy between academia and industry, catalysing research and start-up ecosystems," the institute added.
