BITS Design School opens BITSDAT 2026 applications for BDes Hons programme; apply by February 1

The BITS Design School (BITSDES) has begun the application process for the BITS Design Aptitude Test (BITSDAT) 2026, to offer admission to the Bachelor of Design (Honours) (BDes Hons) programme. The deadline to submit the BITSDAT 2026 application form is February 1, 2026.
The BITSDAT 2026 computer-based test is scheduled from March 31 to April 5, 2026. Candidates interested in pursuing design education at BITS campuses in Pilani, Goa, and Hyderabad can complete their registration and submit the application form through the official website at bitsdesign.edu.in.
The BITSDAT 2026 exam result will be announced on April 16, 2026. Selected candidates will then have to upload their portfolios between April 16 and April 20, 2026. The online interviews will be conducted from May 2 to May 12, 2026, while the final results are yet to be announced.
BITSDAT 2026 application fee
To register for the BITSDAT 2026 exam, candidates will have to pay a non-refundable application fee of Rs 2,500. The BITSDAT selection process comprises the computer-based test, portfolio submission, and an online interview. Final admission decisions will be based on overall performance across all stages, evaluating design aptitude, creativity, and communication skills.
BITSDAT 2026: Eligibility criteria
Candidates appearing for the BITSDAT 2026 exam should meet the eligibility criteria given below.
- Completion of Class 12 or equivalent with a minimum of 45% aggregate marks.
- Candidates should have appeared in at least one of the following design entrance exams:
- National Institute of Design – Design Aptitude Test (NID‑DAT) Prelims
- IIT Bombay Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design (UCEED)
- BITS Design Aptitude Test (BITSDAT)
