BHU launches new scheme to provide financial support to international PhD scholars

BHU has implemented the scheme recently, as per which the International scholars will receive credit incentive of Rs 40,000.
NEW DELHI: Banaras Hindu University (BHU) has recently launched a new scheme to extend financial support to the international research scholars enrolled with the university. As per the scheme, the international scholars will be given a credit incentive of Rs 40,000, a statement from the university said.
In addition to this, if the research scholar is a first author in a Q1 or Q2 journal, he/she will also be eligible to receive an additional credit incentive of Rs 30,000. At present, there are 57 Intermediate scholars on the BHU campus, who will be benefited with the monthly fellowship scheme.

Apart from this, the university will also offer an amount of Rs 8,000 to those international research scholars, who do not have any other fellowship. Also, they will be provided a contingency similar to BHU UGC non-NET fellowship.
The official statement from the university further stated that international scholars publishing papers in Q1 or Q2 journals will be eligible to receive an additional one time incentive of Rs 84,000, similar to the research incentive given to BHU-non net fellowship.
International research scholars will be able to utilise the amount for paying user charges for the equipment at BHU for conducting research work.
