BHU launches 63 SWAYAM programmes, registrations open
BHU launches free-of-cost short-term digital courses in commerce, management, humanities, social sciences, life sciences, psychology, law, engineering, etc.
Banaras Hindi University (BHU) has come up with 63 new Study Webs of Active Learning for Young Aspiring Minds (SWAYAM) courses for 2025.
The courses are divided into three categories on the basis of duration - four, eight, and 12-week programmes, spanning different disciplines like commerce, management , arts, humanities, social sciences, life sciences , psychology, law, engineering , Ayurveda, and many more.
The registration for these courses have begun. Interested candidates can apply on the link: https://swayam.gov.in/INI. The programmes are set to begin from July 21 and August 18. The exams for these courses will be held in October 2025, according to the press statement.
BHU SWAYAM initiative 2025
The Ministry of Education has recognised the initiative taken up by BHU in providing free digital education under the SWAYAM scheme, and has appointed it as the national coordinator on the SWAYAM platform for all Institutes of National Importance (INI).
BHU SWAYAM coordinator, Ashutosh Mohan, institute of management studies, has been designated as the national coordinator for the same. With this development, BHU now streamlines the administration, academic support, and strategic development of the Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC) available under the SWAYAM scheme.
BHU has been an active participant in the SWAYAM scheme since it rolled out its first SWAYAM courses batch in May 2024. The university developed 37 programmes in the last two sessions, and has now brought the number up to 63, for the batch of July 2025.
The Ministry of Education, Government of India launched the Study Webs of Active Learning for Young Aspiring Minds (SWAYAM) initiative to provide accessible learning opportunities to everyone across the country, that too, free of cost.
