Regulated by the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM), BAMS is offered by both government and private Ayurveda colleges across the country.

The ministry of AYUSH made NEET mandatory for admission to BAMS from the academic year 2019-20. Only those candidates who meet the eligibility criteria and obtain the minimum NEET BAMS cut-off will be considered for the national-level and state-level counselling process.
The five-and-a-half-year BAMS course will cover application of Ayurveda, diagnostic techniques, the treatment interventions, and the formulation of herbal drugs.
As per the eligibility criteria, students should have passed in physics, chemistry, biology, and English with 50% marks in Class 12 or equivalent exam. Those belonging to SC and ST categories should have secured at least 40% marks in Class 12.
To be eligible for BAMS admissions, students should have attained the age of 17 years on or before December 31, 2025.

BAMS cut-off for Ayurveda colleges
The Ayush Admissions Central Counselling (AACCC) conducts the BAMS counselling for Ayurveda, Siddha, Unani and Homoeopathy admission in All India Quota (AIQ) seats in government, govt-aided, private, state government, private, central, deemed-to-be universities, management institutes, and NRI seats.
