Air Force Technical College, IISc Bangalore to partner for research, academic cooperation

Agreement between IISC Bangalore and Air Force Technical college will facilitate joint study, research work in mutually beneficial areas.
BENGALURU: Air Force Technical College (AFTC), IAF and Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru on Thursday joined hands to promote academic cooperation, enhance scientific understanding of defence-adopted technologies and to undertake research and development activities in mutually beneficial areas.
An agreemen to this effect was signed by Air Commodore, commandant, Ratnesh Gupta on behalf of AFTC Bengaluru, and IISc, registrar, captain Sridhar Warrier (retired). The agreement would facilitate joint study, research work by AFTC as well as IISc in order to offer solutions to "problem statements" of IAF and to facilitate AFTC Trainee Officers an open access to IISc Library, a Defence release said.

"The areas of collaboration will be aerospace engineering, artificial intelligence and machine learning, radar and microwave, guided weapon, drone technologies, computer science and cyber security, mechanical engineering, electronics and communication engineering and electrical engineering," it was stated.
