Download EBookNew Delhi: The National Law University (NLU), Delhi has postponed the All India Law Entrance
Test (AILET) 2021 exam to June 20 (10 am-11.30 am). The exam was earlier scheduled to be conducted on May 2. While the notification published on the university website doesn’t give any reasons for rescheduling of the exam, however, it is likely done to avoid clash with CBSE Board examinations.
It may be noted that the NLU Consortium, which conducts the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT), had postponed the exam as it was clashing with CBSE Board exams . Originally scheduled for May 9, CLAT 2021 will now be conducted on June 13.
NLU Delhi in the same notification has also notified that the online AILET 2021 application form will commence in the third week of January, also postponed from the first week of January as intimated earlier.
About AILET
AILET is an annual exam conducted by the university for admitting students to its 5-year integrated LLB, LLM, and PhD programmes. Currently, the AILET-based intake capacity for the BA LLB programme is 110 seats, while there are 70 seats for the LLM programme. Further, there are additional seats for NRI candidates for both programmes which offer direct admission based on qualifying exam marks.
Last session, given the pandemic situation, the one and half hour long exam was conducted in online mode, whereas in previous sessions it was conducted in pen-and-paper mode. The mode of conduct of AILET 2021, however, hasn’t been clarified by the university yet.
