AICTE to organise workshop on SARSWATI, YASHASVI, other scholarships at COEP Pune

AICTE Scholarships: The SARASWATI scholarship offers Rs 25,000 per year to female students.
NEW DELHI: The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) will organise a scholarship awareness workshop at the College of Engineering Pune (COEP) on Monday. The AICTE workshop aims to inform BBA, BCA, and BMS students about various scholarship schemes, with a focus on the SARSWATI and YASHASVI scholarships.
Abhay Jere, vice chairman of AICTE , will inaugurate the workshop as the chief guest. Other dignitaries include SG Bhirud, vice chancellor of COEP, and B Venugopal Reddy (IAS), additional chief secretary, department of higher education, Government of Maharashtra. They will address students and provide insights into available financial aid opportunities.
AICTE SARSWATI scholarship for female students
The SARSWATI Scholarship is designed to support female students pursuing BBA, BCA, and BMS courses in AICTE-approved institutions. The eligibility criteria for SARSWATI Scholarship include:

Admission to the first year of a degree-level course.

A maximum of two girl children per family can apply.

The total family income should not exceed Rs 8 lakh per annum, supported by a valid income certificate issued by the State/UT Government.
A total of 3,110 scholarships are available annually under this scheme, with a minimum of 10 scholarships allocated to each State or UT. The SARSWATI Scholarship scholarship amount is Rs 25,000 per year, which can be used towards college fees, the purchase of a computer, books, software, and other educational essentials. The scholarship is disbursed through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) annually.

AICTE YASHASVI scholarship for technical education
The YASHASVI Scholarship is for students pursuing technical education at the degree and diploma levels. The eligibility and benefits include:

Total scholarships: 5,200 (2,593 for degree courses and 2,607 for diploma courses).

Degree-level students: Rs 50,000 per annum for up to four years for first-year admitted students and up to three years for lateral entry students.

Diploma-level students: Rs 30,000 per annum for up to three years for first-year admitted students and up to two years for lateral entry students.
The scholarship distribution is done state-wise, and the amount is directly transferred to the beneficiary's account through DBT.
AICTE workshop objective
The AICTE scholarship awareness workshop will guide students on scheme, application processes, eligibility requirements, and benefits. The initiative aims to ensure that financial constraints do not hinder students from continuing their education. AICTE representatives will also address queries related to various scholarship schemes.
