AICTE asks institutions to follow reservation policy in appointment of faculty, staff

This circular was issued in event of reception of a letter from the NCBC, New Delhi regarding implementation of the reservation policy in appointment.
NEW DELHI: All India Council for Technical Education, or AICTE, has instructed universities and institutions to implement the reservation policy for faculty and staff appointments in AICTE-approved institutions. The AICTE circular which was issued to all Vice Chancellors of Technical unviersities and all Directors/Principals of AICTE approved institutions by Dr Ramesh Unnikrishan, Advisor-II, Policy and Academic Planning Bureau.
The circular reads, "All AICTE approved institutions are supposed to follow reservation policy of the State/Central Govt Information regarding appointment of manpower including faculty with regard to reservation policy implemented in last 3 years needs to be provided in the form.. on top priority basis so that the same could be communicated to the National Commission for Backward Classes."
