Download NowNEW DELHI: The Karnataka Government has announced nearly 25% increase in computer science and allied courses seats in government quota seats. The minister of higher education, Ashwathnarayan CN, said that the decision was made to make the youth industry-ready and employable.
The total number of seats for these courses was increased from 21,804 in 2021-22 to 27,193 in 2022-23 academic session. 5,389 seats have been added in total, as per the seat matrix released by the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA).
Minister Ashwathnarayan CN said, “With the vision of making the youth industry-ready and employable, we have increased the seats in new-age skills like AI, Machine Learning, Data Sciences & others. Providing relevant education and future skills is our motto!”
1,349 seats have been added to Computers Science and Engineering, while 1,008 more seats have been added to Computer Science Engineering - Data Sciences and 725 seats added to CSE-Al Machine learning.

CS-Information Technology-Cyber Security, Computer Science Engg·loTincluding Block Chain, BTech Computer Technology, Information Technology and Engineering are the four new courses have been added.
The total intake in Karnataka UG engineering courses is 1,11,882. This year, 53,248 are filled through Common Entrance Test (CET) seats, 25,171 are through ComedK seats. and 33,463 are management seats. In addition, there are 4,607 supernumerary quota seats, as per reports.
