2,000 apply for Jamia Millia Islamia 's job, internship fair, 'Career Connect'

Of 2,000 applications, Jamia picked 120 for this fair, and shortlisted 500 for future rounds. There were stalls for resume validation, and mock interviews.
NEW DELHI: The University Placement Cell (UPC) of Jamia Milia Islamia (JMI) conducted a job cum internship fair “Career Connect” called Job Utsav on May 3 and 4. The fair was conducted in hybrid mode. UPC collaborated with Nandi Foundation and Mahindra Pride Classroom to organise the event while IES was the associate sponsor.
As per the official statement 2,000 students registered across different courses of whom approximately 120 students were selected. This was the first round of the job cum internship fair. UPC has shortlisted 500 students for further rounds of the fair.
The fair consisted of stalls set for resume validation and mock interviews in which around 300 students participated. There were stalls by students from the fine arts department and hotel management department as well. The offline interviews were conducted in classrooms of faculty of engineering, department of management studies, and university placement cell.

Sixty companies participated in the fair in online and offline modes like tech mahindra, JTEKT, acxiom consulting, vserv, maintec, the economic times, IB global.
During the inauguration ceremony, JMI vice chancellor Najma Akhtar was invited as chief guest to initiate the event at the Faculty of Engineering Auditorium and she said: “JMI strives for the holistic development of its students and expressed confidence in their abilities”. The welcome note was given by UPC director Rahela Farooqi. The guest of honour of the fair was Ravi Srivastava who is regional manager of Naandi Foundation. He shared the initiatives taken by Naandi Foundation in agriculture and women empowerment. According to the official notification, Sabah Khan who is deputy director of UPC said in her vote of thanks: “The contribution of the officials of the University placement cell, the support of the administration and dedication and hard work of the students of various courses in making the Job Utsav a success”
